On the morning of local time March 4, the Qatari Ministry of Defense stated that an Iranian ballistic missile launched on the same day struck the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, causing no casualties, while another ballistic missile was intercepted by Qatar's air defense system.
The U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar is located approximately 35 kilometers southwest of Doha, the capital of Qatar, and about 200 kilometers in a straight line from the Iranian border. Around 10,000 U.S. troops are stationed there, making it one of the largest U.S. military bases in the Gulf region.
